Description Radio Metropole is a Haitian radio stations with french language the radio based in Port-au-Prince. And the radio is a popular station in haiti, providing news program updates and other information on Haiti. Radio Metropole was founded on March 8, 1970 by Herbert Widmaier. A pioneer in Haitian radio, it was the first aired in FM since 1970 as well as the first station to broadcast in Stereo in 1975 and to play music on CDs in 1980. 2009: Gaby Saget, a reporter for the station, received the Jean-Hélène Prize Award Francophone press freedom RFI-RSF-OIF enjoy radio metropolehaiti.

Puerto Principe (French Port-au-Prince, in Creole Pòtoprens) is the capital of Haiti. It is located in the bay of the Gulf of La Gonave, and has a population of 704,776 inhabitants (2003).

It was the capital of the French colony of Saint-Domingue from 1770-1804, when Haiti won its independence; was then designated as the capital of the new state, and during the revolutionary period was called Port-Républicain. Today is the economic, judicial and governmental center of the country and the largest port in Haiti, in addition to the main city of the Department of the West and the seat of the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince.

They are mostly Catholics but also practice voodoo, a cult that combines elements of early Christianity, Catholicism and West African tribal religions.

The main monuments and landmarks of the city are: the University of Haiti, the Royal Palace, National Museum, the Notre Dame de Port-The Haitian Bicentennial of Independence and the pier.

In Port au Prince is the Government Palace and National Palace (symbol of the city) where the Might of the State with the President of the Republic and other public offices.

On January 12, 2010 an earthquake of 7.0 degrees on the Richter scale devastated much of the city. You can talk to more than 200,000 people. This is the worst disaster in history in the Caribbean.
